About Dr.Wan Haslina...

Dr. Wan Haslina Wan Abdul Halim is a Consultant Ophthalmologist in Hospital Tunku Mukhriz Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HCTM UKM), specializing in Cornea and Anterior Segment. She received ophthalmology training from the National University of Malaysia in 2008 and pursued a doctorate degree in Visual Science from Aston University, Birmingham, United Kingdom. She was appointed as British Contact Lens Association Fellow in 2014. She then successfully graduated with a PhD in 2017. Her doctorate research was on corneal biomechanics assessment and its effect on tonometry study in normal , glaucoma as well as keratoconus population. Her doctorate research exposed her to the clinical and surgical leadership of Prof. Dr Sunil Shah, a prominent corneal consultant at Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre. She also completed her corneal and surgical training in HCTM under the tutelage of Dr Then Kong Yong and Dr Aida Zairani Zahidin. She is a dedicated and competent Cornea and Anterior Segment surgeon, offering experience and skills in cataract, corneal transplant, and tissue and stem cell regeneration surgeries. She is actively conducting research in clinical trials, corneal transplant, corneal and limbal stem cell regeneration. She has excellent track record of research success with more than 40 published articles. She is currently the National Head of Phacoemulsification Worksyop Committee for Ophthalmology Trainee under the Malaysian Universities Conjoint Committee in Ophthalmology (MUCCO) since 2018.
